This programme enables young people to gain entry to employment across a diverse range of industries whilst providing industry recognised qualifications.  Youth Service NEET will be able to access employment assistance services. The employment assistance service comprises of (but not limited to) accessing work readiness, job search, employment placement including Mana in Mahi, career support and In-Work Support.

Entry to Mana in Mahi will be determined by the eligibility of the young person depending on individual circumstances.

You will continue to work with the young person to, address any barriers and or challenges, identify pre-employment training options (if required), and support the NEET young person into Mana in Mahi.

As the young person enters Mana in Mahi they will receive skills and experience needed to become competitive in the labour market through an industry led training pathway that has the potential to lead to a trade or recognised industry qualification.

When a young person secures a Mana in Mahi opportunity, the referral and engagement process is as follows:

Stage 1: Young person is referred to Mana in Mahi
  • Youth Coach supports the young person to a work ready stage.
  • Youth Coach profiles the young person to a Work and Income Work Broker or Mana in Mahi employment opportunity through Job Connect.
  • Work Broker will complete a Registration of Interest (ROI) for the young person against the RecruitMe opportunity.
  • Youth Coach will liaise with the Work Broker to determine next steps for the young person.
Stage 2: Young person is placed to Mana in Mahi

Work Broker confirms young person is placed to Mana in Mahi. Youth Coach advised and ensures the young person meets employment outcome definitions.

  • Youth Service Provider uploads contractual employment agreement, letter on employer letterhead outlining job offer, hours, pay etc
  • Record activity into ART (Mana in Mahi – activity type)
  • Add a note in ART – Young Person has obtained Mana in Mahi employment
  • Assess the young person and obtain all relevant documents for EWRA assistance if applicable;
    • Transition to Work Grant
    • Course Participation Assistance

Work Broker:

  • Result the Mana in Mahi vacancy and successfully place the young person against the RecruitMe opportunity
  • Update the Youth Coach of the young person entering Mana in Mahi
  • Add a ‘Mana in Mahi’ and ‘Mana in Mahi In-Work Support’ tag to the NEET young person in CMS.
