Most extra help is income tested and some is also asset tested. You must accept any application where the young person has asked to apply for extra financial assistance.
supplementary assistance
Supplementary assistance payments are extra payments that are not main benefits eg AS, DA, TAS.
hardship assistance
One-off payment to help young people pay an essential or emergency cost.
emergency housing
Short-term accommodation for young people and their immediate family who have an urgent need for accommodation.

If a young person has an essential need that they can't use their payment card to meet, they can apply to have their payment card balance transferred to meet this need.
