Young people who have money left on their payment card can ask to transfer it into their bank account when they exit our service

who can request a payment card transfer

Young people who:

paying back debt

If the young person has debt with us, this will be recovered first from the money on their payment card.  Any remaining balance left after their debt has been paid will be go directly into their bank account.

Young person does not wish to repay their debt

If they don't want to pay their debt, the funds will remain on their payment card and can only be used at approved youth service payment card suppliers.

Young person has no debt

If they don't have debt with us, the funds will be paid into their bank account.

You will need to confirm the transfer with the young person and ensure they have enough food or money for groceries until the money is transferred into their account.  Where applicable, discuss paying back their debt.

Notifying YSSU

You will need to notify YSSU via ART task.

YSSU will withdraw the money from the payment card and notify you of the outcome.

Note

  • The minimum withdrawal amount is $1.00.  Anything below this will remain on the young person's payment card.
  • The payment card transfer may take 7 to 10 working days before the money will appear in the young person's bank account.
