emergency housing

Emergency housing is short-term accommodation for young people and their immediate whānau who have an urgent need for accommodation over some or all of the next seven nights.

Public housing (also known as state housing and social housing) is where people live in a home and receive government subsided rent.

transitional housing

Transitional housing (TH) is temporary accommodation and support for individuals or families who are not in permanent accommodation.

Housing Support Products (HSPs)

Housing Support Products are designed to provide financial special assistance to eligible applicants for housing related costs to assist them to obtain and retain housing.

In this module, you'll learn:

  • the types of housing support products available
  • the qualifications for each type of support
  • how to support young people to apply for housing support products
