This module provides an overview of housing supports, products, services and content.
It will be useful for youth coaches to learn about how we will support taiohi into safe and sustainable housing.
Emergency housing is short-term accommodation for young people and their immediate whānau who have an urgent need for accommodation over some or all of the next seven nights.
In this module, you will learn more about how emergency housing works and how you can support taiohi who need it.
Public housing (also known as state housing and social housing) is where people live in a home and receive government subsided rent.
In this module, you will learn how you can help taiohi with public housing.
Transitional housing (TH) is temporary accommodation and support for individuals or families who are not in permanent accommodation.
In this module you will learn about transitional housing and how to help taiohi access it.
Housing Support Products are designed to provide financial special assistance to eligible applicants for housing related costs to assist them to obtain and retain housing.
In this module, you'll learn:
- the types of housing support products available
- the qualifications for each type of support
- how to support young people to apply for housing support products
